Alex has a diverse academic background with Master Degrees in Medical Sciences and Visual Art Administration. Currently he is the Centre Executive of kaitak, Centre for Research and Development in Visual Arts at the Academy of Visual Arts of the Hong Kong Baptist University. He is responsible for handling administration and planning of the centre as well as liaising with external partners such as organisations, schools and sponsors. Before joining the centre, he was a Project Manager at the Hong Kong Arts Development Council heavily involved in the last 4 Hong Kong’s participation at the Venice Biennale from 2007 to 2013. In addition, he participated in a local historical research at the Hong Kong g overnment, where he interviewed with more than a hundred of local citizens to collect different real life stories from the 1940’s onward. The research preserved a part of the local history and became the basis of the book “Legends of the Central & Western District” published by the District Council.
